2017 Workshop Magazine Awards Winner

Social Media Masters Win Coveted Industry Award

A leading used car retailer in Newcastle-upon-Tyne is celebrating after winning a leading industry award.

Redgate Lodge, of New York Road, Shiremoor, was named Social Media User of the Year at the annual Workshop Magazine Awards, which took place at The Brewery, London.

With almost 48,000 followers on Facebook, the dealership keeps its audience entertained with regular posts about latest news and offers, and videos of its used car stock.

Director Scott Sibley said: "Social media is, in our opinion, one of the best ways we can connect with our customers and we really enjoy engaging with them through our Facebook page. We're absolutely thrilled to be named Social Media User of the Year - it's a great honour."

James Baggott, Founder and Publisher of Workshop Magazine, said: "Redgate Lodge clearly works very hard to maintain its social media presence and while there was a whole host of excellent finalists, they were head and shoulders above the rest. We're delighted to be able to recognise their achievements with this award. They really deserve it."

Presented by British F1 legend Johnny Herbert and sponsored by the Independent Garage Association (IGA), the Workshop Magazine Awards were a fitting tribute for an industry now worth a colossal £21.6 billion each year -£12.5 billion of which contributes directly to the British economy - and which supports 347,000 jobs.
