We check that your vehicle’s wheels are set to the optimum position for your particular make and model, and adjust the direction and angles of the wheels accordingly.
Often referred to as ‘breaking’ or ‘tracking’, wheel alignment is a fundamental part of general vehicle maintenance, which involves checking that your vehicle’s wheels are set to the optimum position for your particular make and model, and adjusting the direction and angles of the wheels accordingly. Depending upon the particular instructions outlined in your owner’s manual, these specifications could be described as ‘positive and negative camber’ or ‘toe in and toe out’.
Our 2 Wheel Tracking Service will ensure your vehicles 2 x front wheels are set to the manufacturers specifications which should be parallel, giving you straight driving on a level road.
Using our state-of-the-art 4 wheel laser alignment gauges, we will ensure your car is set up perfectly to the manufacturers original specifications. This service is for both axels (all 4 wheels) and includes measurements and any adjustments needed to toe in/toe out, positive/negative caster, positive/negative camber. We are able to undertake the work on any make and model vehicle, giving customers a before and after print-out of their vehicle.
As a rule, mechanics suggest that you check the wheel alignment of your vehicle on a weekly basis. Whilst checking your wheel alignment, you should also examine your tyres – check their pressure and scrutinise them for any signs of damage or general wear and tear. By doing this, you can quickly identify any automotive faults and arrange to have them repaired before they develop into more dangerous and costly problems. This simple yet highly effective process can extend the lifespan of your tyres and substantially improve your vehicle’s fuel economy!
Unfortunately, your vehicle’s wheels can be knocked out of alignment by seemingly minor incidents, such as driving over potholes or hitting and mounting particularly high kerbs. Misalignment can also be caused by excessive wear and tear to the mechanical components of your steering and suspension systems. It is evident that your wheels are misaligned if you can feel your vehicle drifting to the left or right whilst braking and steering, or if the inner and outer tread surfaces of your tyres are visibly worn.
Not only will these faults reduce the efficiency of your vehicle’s engine, handling and steering capabilities, but they will also compromise your safety. This is due to the fact that misaligned wheels will dramatically reduce the rolling resistance of your tyres.
