Leaving school at 16, Scott made his first career move studying Hotel Management at Northumberland College before retraining as a chef and working for the world-renowned Marriott Hotel Group.

Scott was soon setting up his first award-winning business – a catering business. This won him Tyneside Entrepreneur and Business of the Year Award. After 6 successful years trading, Scott moved on again and was instrumental in the growth of well-known north east retail outlet Grainger Games, progressing it from a small local business to an award-winning, industry-leading retail company with a presence on high streets up and down the country.

Scott’s true passion had always been the motor trade. Initially, with a small investment and selling cars from his home, in 2010 Redgate Lodge was born. In 2011, Scott moved Redgate Lodge into its first premises in Bedlington. In late 2013, Redgate Lodge moved to ex-main dealer site at Shiremoor, where we are currently situated. In 2020, we purchased our new prep-centre and Bodyshop, which will allow us to increase stock levels.
Away from the business, you may often see Scott in the gym or cycling local routes on a Sunday. Having a great love of food from his early days as a chef, Scott is still a massive fan of fine dining when he does eventually take a well-deserved break away from the Lodge.

Jane, as one of the founding members of Redgate Lodge, started out by handling admin and helping sell cars from home while Scott was working full time. She later took on the challenge of running the company’s first unit entirely on her own — all while raising three children.

As the business grew and moved to Shiremoor, Jane transitioned from car sales into a full-time role managing admin and HR. Due to a life-changing illness, Jane now works part-time, helping out in the business and stepping in whenever needed.

A true staff favourite, Jane is known for her sharp eye for detail and for keeping every site spotless and running like clockwork. She’s also famous for keeping the team well-fed with Greggs pasties. Simply put, everyone loves Jane.

Chartered Accountant Peter boasts almost 30 years of experience in the motor trade, having started as a Dealership Financial Controller in 1998, before moving into various roles at several large PLC retailers. This impressive career has cemented Peter’s place as a well-known and respected character within the north east’s motor retail industry.

Passionate about customer service and delivering real value to our consumers, Peter is dedicated to driving the success of the dealership forward. His analytical mind and financial strategies ensure that all aspects of Redgate Lodge thrive, both now and in the future.

Away from the office, Peter loves to explore the countryside, doing so on foot and by bike. Always ready to challenge himself, Peter is a keen fundraiser and, in the past 5 years, has accumulated over £4,000 for charity by taking part in walking marathons and long-distance cycling challenges.

Ben has been with us since 2015, originally as our service manager, Ben took over as general manager in March 2021.
Having worked previously for Grainger Games for 14 years, progressing from store sales staff to the head of communications, property and acquisitions where he was responsible for finding, opening and maintaining over 70+ stores throughout the UK.

Although new to the motor trade Ben’s management and people skills are unprecedented, as demonstrated by being awarded the “Rising Star” accolade by Motor Trade Magazine.
When not at work fiercely competitive Ben can usually be found with his brother Sam, enjoying a nice game of golf or spending time with his beautiful partner Claire, stepdaughter Faye and son George.
