Redgate Lodge

Redgate Lodge is a used car independent business formed in August 2010 by husband and wife team Scott and Jane Sibley. From the outset it could see a problem with used car part exchange disposals.

For Redgate Lodge, the problem was that traditional dealer part-ex cars surplus to requirements did not fetch the same value as those from franchise dealers, which added to confusion.

“Our solution to the problem was to create a Facebook group, ‘Part Ex Gold’ where we would invite dealers to join the group. We created a simple template that we would share in each post. This included year, model, miles, condition, previous accident damage and MOT status.”

Since then, the Part Ex Gold Facebook group has grown and is now said to be the largest part exchange-dedicated Facebook group for UK dealers.
